iPad 101: On Campus in Under a Year

Bay Path College implemented an iPad initiative in under a year. This session will explore the experience from the IT and teaching and learning perspectives and will cover a range of topics, from policies and purchasing to faculty and student support. With both IT and Academic Affairs "at the table," participants will have the opportunity to appraise IT policies and procedures including mobile device management; recognize the need for holistic support; and identify key stakeholders in the initiative. Key takeaways include lessons learned during the planning, purchasing and deployment stages as well as examples of how the iPad has enhanced the classroom experience.


OBJECTIVES: Be able to identify technical and teaching and learning support needs prior to launching an iPad initiative * Be able to appraise proposed IT policies and procedures for an iPad initiative * Understand the need for 360-degree ongoing support for faculty and students * Be able to identify possible key stakeholders in an iPad initiative * Understand how the iPad can enhance the classroom experience
