Software-Defined AV and the Future of Classroom Technology

Wednesday, March 26, 2014 | 3:50PM–4:40PM | Room 552A
Session Type: Professional Development
Software-defined AV brings a significant value proposition to colleges and universities by lowering the cost of or eliminating the need for black boxes in favor of less expensive soft-AV switching, soft-push-to-talk microphone functionality for distance learning applications, soft-encoding/decoding, and more. In addition, value is created in the new things that can be achieved with software that simply don't exist in the form-factor world of electronics boxes.

OBJECTIVES: Gain a broader understanding of software-defined AV in the classroom * Learn how to approach classroom technology from an enterprise/software-based perspective * Gain an understanding of how a soft-UI can be deployed that faculty will love
