VDI: Mobile, Flexible, Secure, Centralized, and Affordable

Tuesday, March 25 | 3:00PM–3:50PM | Room 552A
Session Type: Professional Development
Henry Ford once said, "If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses." Technology departments are constantly immersed with user feedback and ultimately want to provide the necessary tools for users to work effectively. The challenge remains that most users want different things. Or do they? Perhaps the work order for new PCs, for a new AutoDesk lab, or to add a new software suite to the standard image can all be solved with a more innovative approach.

OBJECTIVES: Learn about the finer points of a wildly successful VDI deployment * Demystify the pros and cons of VDI by hearing the customer's experience * Examine different use cases, including architecture students at RWU running high-end graphic programs from both university and student-owned devices on and off campus
