K-20 Education Collaborations: Mutually Beneficial Technology Partnerships

The Thomas O'Brien Academy of Science and Technology and the College of Saint Rose have a long history of educational collaborations. Over the past few years, these collaborations have focused on the implementation of educational technologies including distance learning, computer programming, and science projects. Saint Rose education and computer science students team up to offer after-school Scratch programming classes to urban elementary students. Their latest effort is the integration of robotics into the classrooms. Saint Rose hosts virtual field trips to the Bronx Zoo and New York Hall of Science for the elementary students to expose them to a college environment.
