Wednesday, April 01 | 4:50PM–5:40PM | Room 553
Session Type: Professional Development
Historically accessible on VHS cassettes stored securely on-site, the Fortunoff Video Archive for Holocaust Testimonies is a unique but highly sensitive primary source special collection now available digitally. The new access and delivery model is configured to balance privacy considerations and the desire to expand the reach of the collection to a global community through streaming video and side-by-side time-encoded finding aids. Supported by a specially developed local authentication server acting as the hub for secure user authentication, user authorization for specific testimonies, and the integration point for several enterprise applications including Aeon, Drupal, and Kaltura, this model can be expanded to serve other sensitive collections.

OUTCOMES: Learn about current standards for implementing a secure authentication server * Learn best practices for API development and management * Learn about Aeon and Kaltura
