EI for IT: Where Are We, and Where Should We Go?

Increasingly, leadership workshops offered by EDUCAUSE and others have integrated the application of emotional intelligence (EI) and related competencies in support of organizational planning and visioning in IT. This past winter, NERCOMP coordinated a workshop on EI for IT that examined emotional intelligence from broad theoretical perspectives to its relevance and everyday application in user support. This session will present an overview of the topics, challenges, and barriers covered in that workshop and addresses potential next steps in support of EI for organizational leadership and individual professional development.
