Sketching the Many Faces of Video: Creating and Communicating Policy and Guidance to Support a Growing Need

Tuesday, March 22, 2016 | 4:00PM–4:50PM | Room 550
Session Type: Professional Development
With solutions in place for lecture capture, synchronous virtual meetings, video hosting, on-demand video tutorials, and captioning and with video cameras in the pockets of nearly all campus members, it can be challenging to provide succinct and clear policies and guidance to a campus developing its understanding and needs for using video. This interactive session will discuss our journey, detailing steps taken to define and guide supported use cases for video with clear policies for diverse implementations. Concerns addressed will include accessibility, access, and privacy. Participants are encouraged to contribute to this interactive discussion and share their experiences with peers.

Outcomes: Learn about various use cases of video and identify effective tools for each application * Create a use case matrix to communicate best practices for defined use cases
