Sensitive Data and Public Systems: Free Tools and Tactical Approaches to Reduce Information Exposure Risk

Tuesday, April 05 | 5:00PM–6:30PM | Bonham B/Third Level
Session Type: Professional Development
The growing number of public-facing university systems also leads to increased risk of potential disclosure of sensitive information. This session will explore pragmatic, technical approaches security staff can implement to improve detection, collection, and reporting of sensitive data and systems using free or low-cost yet powerful tools such as SHODAN, the Google Hacking Database, and FOCA. We'll cover custom tools and "starter code" for automation and will allow ample time for Q&A and discussion.
