EDUCAUSE 2005—the premier information technology event in higher education—was held October 18–21 in Orlando, Florida. Focused on the theme "Transforming the Academy: Dreams and Reality," the diverse program offered a variety of ways to gather information, engage with colleagues, and hear from leading figures in the field, including preconference seminars; track sessions; poster sessions; small group meetings; and corporate exhibits, presentations, and workshops.
The conference's energizing setting was a place to germinate new ideas, forge valuable collaborations, and discover effective strategies. Attendees met people from all professional levels, from all sizes and types of institutions, and from across the United States and around the world. They used the opportunity to refresh their perspectives and make valuable contacts, and returned to their organizations with a wealth of useful information.
