The Data Deluge Hits Campus

Thursday, October 20, 2005 | 4:55PM–5:45PM | Meeting Room W304A-D
Session Type: Professional Development
New scholarly practices under the banner of e-science and e-scholarship are unleashing a data deluge. While cyberinfrastructure efforts are being deployed to address this challenge, their viewpoint tends to be disciplinary rather institutional. This session will take the institutional perspective, reviewing policy, technical, standards, and organizational developments central to campus responses to these new scholarly practices and depicting a future in which mutually supporting institutional, disciplinary, and national approaches to stewardship can evolve together.
WINNER: 2005 EDUCAUSE Award for Leadership in Public Policy and Practice. Award sponsored by SunGard SCT, An EDUCAUSE Platinum Partner.
