Session Type:
E09 Hybrid, Mentoring Home, Resources
In today's economy, IT is constantly asked to do more with less. One way to organize project requests is through a project management discipline. This seminar will explore a project management methodology in place at Georgia State and how it can be adapted by other institutions to help them achieve IT success. This seminar will provide you with tools and processes to use at your home institution. It will include a defined methodology for gathering project requirements and ranking projects for resource allocation by organization.
During the seminar, we will work through each step in the five project management phases as described by the Project Management Institute (PMI) and cover the information needed at each part of the process. You will leave the class with a basic understanding of project management and with resources to help you better implement a solution in your domain.
