Power Up Your IT Communications with Generative AI

Thursday, November 14, 2024 | 11:00AM–11:45AM ET
Session Type: Poster Session
Delivery Format: Virtual Poster Session

Push past the hype and harness the superpowers of generative AI. In IT and beyond, as we approach the crucial tasks of communicating changes, marketing new services, and crafting how-to pages, our teams face constraints on time, funding, and personnel. Many of us thirst for help with keeping our students, faculty, and staff informed, whether we specialize in IT communications and knowledge creation or we’re the help desk staff, service owners, or others tasked with communicating. Although GenAI does not replace human communicators, it emerges as a valuable partner, augmenting staff capabilities. AI tools can produce increasingly relevant and authentic contributions with your time and attention. Indeed, GenAI can help you operationalize communications, but these robust contributors must be prompted precisely to provide output that aligns with your goals.

This session will provide examples of applying AI tools to help develop written messaging and illustrations. The lessons from this session can apply to any type of higher ed communications.
