Decision Intelligence: A Framework for Making Strategic Decisions in a Complex Environment

Thursday, November 13, 2025 | 11:00AM–11:45AM ET
Session Type: Poster Session
Delivery Format: Virtual Poster Session
Organizations routinely invest in cutting-edge data and machine learning capabilities without understanding how these capabilities inform their goals and decisions. Decision Intelligence (DI) is a framework for using data—particularly artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML)—to not just inform decisions but to connect them to action and outcomes so we can learn what works quickly and improve both efficiency and outcomes. It rests on the premise that analytics can be augmented by research on human decision-making to promote sound organizational decisions. We will discuss how we are using DI at Western Governors University (WGU) and walk participants through an exercise that will help them to apply DI at their organizations.
