Designing Dynamic, Inclusive Ecosystems: SCAD’s Holistic Approach to Student Technology Support
In a rapidly evolving digital learning landscape, students require more than just access to technology—they need an integrated, responsive, and empowering ecosystem. This session spotlights the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) innovative Educational Technology Student Ecosystem (STE), a dynamic and evolving framework embedded in Blackboard and powered by inclusive resources and integrated technology tools. Participants will explore how SCAD's STE supports student success by centralizing access, promoting inclusivity, and building responsive, frictionless experiences that enhance both academic and non-academic engagement. Attendees will examine how the STE addresses key challenges such as fragmentation, accessibility, and scalability by leveraging tools and connecting students and faculty through engaging learning experiences. The session will walk through SCAD’s strategic journey—from individual resource updates to the development of an interconnected digital ecosystem that directly improves student satisfaction, engagement, and retention. Educators, administrators, and instructional designers will leave with inspiration and practical insights for building or enhancing their own student-centered technology ecosystems.
