As AI becomes increasingly embedded in higher education, educators face a dual imperative: prepare students for an AI-infused world and do so in ways that critically center inclusive, accessible teaching. In the rush to integrate AI into curricula, we must not disregard the science of teaching and learning. To maximize student learning and understanding of AI, educators must account for individual learner needs as they design opportunities to enhance AI literacy. In this virtual poster session, we introduce a Critical AI Literacy Framework grounded in Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles to support the development of learning experiences that honor learner variability and foster meaningful engagement with AI. Participants will explore strategies for designing, teaching, and assessing learning that promotes equity, student agency, and critical thinking.
