This year's conference, "The Technology Revolution in Higher Education: IT as a Catalyst for Change," explored the impact of technology in our rapidly changing world. Technology has moved into the hands of information consumers who exercise their freedoms using cell phones, personal technology, social networking, and collaborative software. These technological advances are accelerating rapidly and, combined with technology's multidisciplinary nature, have a profound impact on requisite workforce skill sets. As we become increasingly global and interconnected, technology serves as a catalyst that stretches across disciplines, combining academic and social life. IT staff at every level must re-think our business and educational processes and act strategically in leading this revolution of change.
