Although a moderate-sized public university with limited resources, Indiana University of Pennsylvania was named in the top-25 wired campuses by Forbes magazine and has quality technology services. These successes can be explained in part by our model for technology selection and decision making. Input on technology direction and evaluation is solicited through a variety of interlinked committees; technologies are tested in a systematic yet flexible process. This model made it possible for IUP to participate fully in the technology revolution. Our underlying principles can be applied to other institutions and contexts.
