Agile Project Management and IT Governance: Moving to Enterprise 2.0

Friday, January 09, 2009 | 10:30AM–11:15AM | Millennium Hall (second floor)
Session Type: Professional Development
Originally developed as a software development framework, agile project management (APM) is now being implemented for not only for IT project management and governance but also throughout the agile enterprise, or what Andrew McAfee of the Harvard Business School calls "Enterprise 2.0" organizations. Because the benefits of APM are tied directly to nontraditional management practices such as web-based technologies that facilitate collaboration, foster information sharing, and provide for emergent design throughout the organization, institution-wide understanding and support is required. In this presentation, agile methods, as well as some techniques for achieving organizational coherence with APM, will be introduced, illustrated, and explored.
