The Many Benefits of Cultivating Community Among IT Staff in Decentralized Organizations
Wednesday, January 13, 2010 | 4:45PM–5:30PM | Harborside Ballroom A
Session Type:
Professional Development
Today, budgets are increasingly tight and the need for technical training is increasingly vital. While there are common problems and needs among units, the decentralized nature of the university environment makes it difficult to address training needs of IT staff with the strength or efficiency of large, centralized counterparts. While a university is commonly seen as a collection of smaller businesses from an inside perspective, this view can be limiting and costly. In this session, we'll explore a multifaceted approach to serve a single IT community in your institution, and the invaluable dividends that this perspective pays.
