Conserving Energy Through Remote Control of Your PC

Tuesday, March 16, 2010 | 11:45AM–12:30PM | King Arthur's Court/Third Floor
Session Type: Professional Development
Although many ways of "being green" have emerged in the last few years, little has been done to accommodate users who need remote access to their computers and to balance that with energy conservation. This session will highlight the planning, development, and implementation of a web application that allows users to remotely start up their computers when they need to access them. An IT administrator and a developer/IT security officer will discuss their approaches to this issue and how they focused on the creation of this product.
