Enhancing Campus Services Through Federated Identity Management Collaborations

Monday, March 15, 2010 | 5:45PM–6:30PM | King Arthur's Court/Third Floor
Session Type: Professional Development
Increasingly, individuals, universities, and service providers are looking for effective ways to work together online using federated identity management services. Through the InCommon Federation, members use identity credentials from their home organization to access resources worldwide. Using the InCommon framework of shared policies, trust-establishing processes, and technologies, institutions will enhance services, improve security and achieve efficiencies. In this presentation, a CIO and a enterprise architect will present how a consortium of universities are making a commitment to achieve "silver" status in InCommon, how they are approaching the task, and how easy or difficult they think it will be.
