Emotional Intelligence: Making a Difference Where You Are

Thursday, June 03, 2010 | 4:30PM–5:30PM | International H (6th floor)
Session Type: Professional Development
Do you want to make a difference in your workplace? This session will present an overview of emotional intelligence (EI). EI's four dimensions will be covered (self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and social skills), and activities will hone your EI skills. EI is concerned with skill sets to better embrace our feelings and emotions both personally and in relationships in the workplace. Understanding EI and developing EI skills can help you identify the emotions driving specific actions and better understand your colleagues' interactions. It can help you take ownership of your work situation, whether it's effectively collaborating day-to-day with others, promoting and managing strategic change, or otherwise providing leadership from wherever you are in your organization. Join us to learn about EI and develop your skills in this key element of successful workplace interactions.
