Maintaining Institutional Academic Continuity in an Emergency or Crisis Event
Thursday, June 03, 2010 | 3:30PM–4:15PM | International F/G (6th floor)
Session Type:
Professional Development
Due to an increasing number of crisis events on campuses in recent years, two- and four-year academic institutions have had to reexamine alternative curriculum delivery options in the event of a natural disaster, pandemic, or other unforeseen campus instructional disruption. This session will demonstrate and discuss web-based learning management strategies, templates, and web portals developed cooperatively by Radford University's emergency management, IT, and distance education departments to meet the challenges posed by extended campus-wide crisis events or individual classroom disruptions that may separate teacher and learner.
