Rapid-Fire Delivery: Or, How We Accelerated Application Development While Improving Customer Satisfaction

Wednesday, June 02 | 3:30PM–4:15PM | International D (6th floor)
Session Type: Professional Development
Agile development is a methodology using iterative progression and team collaboration. It allows adjustment of software features and plans as development projects progress. The agile approach originates from the need to build software faster, with higher quality. It does away with development processes involving specialized roles. Instead, agile promotes team-oriented, customer-focused, collaborative, and iterative practices. The lean approach reduces waste and increases value. Basic lean principles are: build only what is needed; eliminate anything that does not add value; stop if something goes wrong. By combining these two methodologies, Application Services at Clemson University is retooling its workforce and application development.
