The Universally Designed Learning Experience

Thursday, February 18 | 3:30PM–4:15PM | Capitol View Terrace
Session Type: Professional Development
Universal Design for Learning (UDL) improves the academic experience of all students, including those with disabilities. Through the efforts of the ACCESS Project at Colorado State University, UDL has become an integral component of academic life. This was accomplished by strategically aligning the UDL message with areas of interest among faculty and administrators, adopting broad definitions of "accessibility" and "diversity," and partnering with key university agencies. This session will highlight the multiple approaches taken by the ACCESS Project to "institutionalize" universal design for learning principles and measure their effectiveness.
