Part of the Solution: Blurring the Lines Between Teaching and Learning Roles

Monday, March 14, 2011 | 4:45PM–5:30PM | King Arthur's Court/Third Floor
Session Type: Professional Development
On campuses everywhere, the traditional instructor/student model is becoming increasingly inadequate in light of the pervasive use of technology and the expansion of education into more dynamic environments. The need for students to be more involved with their classmates and instructors necessitates altering the normal teaching and learning processes. Using examples from Gallery, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville's open-source image and multimedia management application, this session will focus on how technology can be used in various situations to increase collaboration between students and instructors in ways that blur the lines separating their traditional teaching and learning roles.
