Bowie State University requires students to enroll in a course entitled Computer Literacy and Applications that focuses on computer applications, touching briefly on software and hardware. Based on the need for technology in majors offered at Bowie State University, a Computer Principles and Technologies course was developed. The Computer Principles and Technologies course combines the material offered in the Computer Literacy and Applications course plus a more in-depth study of applied computing to include hardware and software. This presentation suggests ways to support various technology media as a method to teach computer fluency.
