Transformation of traditional courses to a blended or online format can be demanding for instructors who want to use technologies to extend space and time for students to learn. This presentation will introduce a multiphase immersion model that facilitates knowledge, skills, resources, and services to faculty who will potentially teach blended or online courses. At James Madison University, faculty benefit from immersive institutes, which focus on blended or online teaching and are developed and facilitated by a team of instructional technology professionals, faculty mentors, and presenters. The structure, operation, and impact of these programs will be presented and discussed.
