Leaping into the Clouds: Different Philosophies and Approaches to Hosted E-Mail and Collaborative Software Solutions

Wednesday, January 12 | 4:45PM–5:30PM | Harborside Ballroom A
Session Type: Professional Development
With IT departments experiencing severe cuts in staffing and technology resources, tough fiscal decisions had to be made to achieve a balanced budget while still maintaining a certain level of service. A relatively common decision these past couple of years was to retire the older on-site e-mail systems and to pursue cloud computing solutions. These solutions often allow for significant cost savings in the reduction of personnel and capital equipment, while offering an expanded array of services. The session includes a panel from diverse institutions who will discuss their varying experiences and approaches to "leaping into the cloud."
