Session Type: Professional Development
Some assume that historians use computers merely as glorified typewriters. However, historians also collect and study large amounts of data and are interested in making connections, finding patterns, and drawing inferences from among that data. The history of technology may soon show how certain technologies became valuable tools to historians in the collection, organization, and visualization of their data even though these technologies were not necessarily created with historians in mind. This talk explores some of the technologies historians are using to illustrate and explore historical data and what impact this has on centralized resources and support.
