Traversing Boundaries: Collaboration between a Library Faculty Member and an Instructional Designer

Thursday, January 13 | 3:30PM–4:15PM | Harborside Ballroom A
Session Type: Professional Development
The widespread adoption of online teaching and learning management systems provides unique opportunities for libraries and is rapidly changing the way librarians do instruction and present content. This presentation will show how a library faculty member partnered with an instructional designer at the University of Maryland to convert a face-to-face EndNoteWeb workshop into an online course that is self-paced and task-driven and contains multiple modalities. We will discuss our collaboration approach and showcase the product results. Lessons learned will be shared.
