Connecting InCommon Silver and Research at UW–Milwaukee

UW–Milwaukee is growing its research initiatives. As the initiatives grow, we recognize that federal-granting agencies are working toward a model where the services used to maintain grants employ local institution credentials instead of agency-issued ones. In this model, certain services require that local institutional credential comply with federal levels of assurance. We face several hurdles in meeting these compliance goals, yet if we are unable to reach them our ability to compete effectively and efficiently for federal grants will be impacted. We'll discuss our InCommon Silver initiative and our progress toward higher levels of assurance for our institutional credentials.
