A Strategic Effort to Upgrade Information Processes with Document Management and Its Challenges

Swarthmore will briefly share our experience of designing an electronic process to replace what had been boxes of applicant folders. Instead of clicking through a slide show, the participants will discuss the challenges of designing and implementing new business processes using document management solutions. Designing a process that improves current process is a challenging task that requires a plethora of inputs (goals, software, constraints, and IT and departmental collaboration). Many things can and do impact the project, forcing the process itself to continuously adapt and evolve from its initial definition.
