Building IT Leadership and Community: IT Connects at Penn State

The exploding demand for Information Technology resources coupled with the current economic challenges are forcing higher education Information Technology professionals to work more collaboratively. At Penn State, a grass roots effort is underway to develop IT Leadership skills and collegiality through forums, workshops, recognition, coaching, mentoring and brown bag events. These efforts are packaged into an "IT Connects" program and have been gaining in popularity as a viable means to offer professional development opportunities that will also increase productivity and collaboration across IT Professionals at Penn State.
