The Development of Formative Feedback and Reflection Tools for Teacher Education
Thursday, January 12, 2012 | 2:30PM–3:30PM | Harborside Ballroom Foyer
Session Type:
Professional Development
Two online tools were developed to promote collaborative interactions with music education students within microteaching and student teaching environments. Within microteaching, a tool (etownVR) was developed to capture videos of teaching, attach rubrics and reflections to these videos, and allow the teacher and students to form meaningful interactions around specific instances of teaching. A second tool (stteach) was developed to allow a supervisor to capture different forms of time-stamped data of student teaching observations and facilitate documented and ongoing interactions between the student and supervisor.
