The cloud and web services are a legal, contractual, and regulatory minefield, and our users are walking right into it, blissfully unaware of the danger. We don't want to merely frighten them off, as this new world is rich with possibility and opportunities for teaching and scholarship. At U.Va., we have devised a mixture of policy, education, and operating procedures that we believe will help us navigate this minefield and reach the promise on the other side.
