Emory University's main library opened the Research Commons in the fall of 2011. The 5,000-square-foot space is dedicated to graduate students and faculty who are engaged in collaborative scholarly work that takes advantage of digital technology. As such, the Research Commons is an effort on the part of the library to respond effectively to the increasing interest in digital scholarship. This presentation will focus on the Research Commons' mission and space as well as how it the takes advantage of its place in the library.
