Helping Students Succeed through an IT Educational Initiative

Wednesday, May 30, 2012 | 3:30PM–4:15PM | Grand Ballroom Salons A/B
Session Type: Professional Development
Student success is key to the mission of any institution of higher learning. Data has repeatedly revealed that our students often come unprepared to meet the expectations of the university in the areas of information literacy and technology skills. Through survey and other data analysis, we have focused our attention on an educational initiative that engages students in learning about campus IT services and resources and also creates IT knowledge and skill-based opportunities they can leverage to increase their success. However, sometimes even the best laid plans go awry and one has to rethink, regroup, and remember that there is more than one avenue to success. Flexibility and a sense of humor are recommended.
