Is It Time for a New Kind of Campus Portal?

Session Type: Professional Development
The traditional portal is a jack-of-all-trades: it offers variety, but not focus. Originally the broad portal toolset was valuable for universities, but it is becoming less relevant as universities now build their own toolsets from best-in-field service providers. Today, universities need a portal focused on delivering their existing services in a way that is intuitive, flexible, and accessible from every device. At UWF, we walked away from two large portal providers we'd worked with after we identified a better way to present and built a new kind of portal focused first on delivering university services.
