Session Type: Professional Development
In this new century, three forces—declining funding, rising expectations, and rapidly developing technologies—will transform higher education. The loss of public funding has already reshaped the financial landscape of public higher education. Calls for more and better educated Americans will force much greater attention on learning outcomes and student success. Technology will enable us to discover, aggregate, and use information in new, networked, more powerful ways. These three forces are challenging our institutions to rethink the entire enterprise. In an era of change and loss, where are the opportunities for institutional renewal and revitalization?
