Multiple Realities and Multiple Dimensions for Teaching and Learning

Thursday, May 31 | 2:30PM–3:30PM | Grand Ballroom Foyer
Session Type: Professional Development
New developments in technology open doors for new environments and dimensions for teaching and learning. The number of educational institutions and programs using 3D virtual environments, such as Second Life and OpenSim, continues to grow, and efforts to build a collaborative virtual community and develop best practices are getting more sophisticated. Augmented reality is introduced to classrooms to connect the mashed realities of virtual and physical existence for new ways of learning. We'll share specific examples of these tools, along with their challenges and benefits, and encourage discussion of ideas and concerns.
