From Visibility to Action: Practical Cloud Security and SecOps for Higher Education (separate registration is required)

Tuesday, April 28, 2026 | 12:30PM–4:00PM PT | California Ballroom A, Second Floor
Session Type: Preconference Workshop
Delivery Format: Industry Led

For Institutional Attendees Only

Higher education institutions are operating increasingly complex cloud environments driven by decentralized IT, research workloads, and constant resource constraints. While most security teams can identify cloud risks, far fewer have the operational processes and workflows needed to consistently prioritize and remediate them.

This hands-on workshop is designed for higher education security professionals who want practical, repeatable cloud security and SecOps practices they can take back to campus. Participants will work through real-world higher ed scenarios to build cloud visibility, assess risk in context, and design effective response workflows that align security, IT, and academic stakeholders.

Through a mix of expert-led instruction, peer case studies, and guided exercises, attendees will develop actionable playbooks for cloud risk discovery, triage, and response—moving from reactive alerting to operationalized cloud security that scales across campus environments.

By the end of the workshop, attendees will leave with:

  • Two to three repeatable cloud security workflows
  • A reference operating model for cloud SecOps in higher ed
  • Practical experience triaging, prioritizing, and responding to cloud risk
  • Peer insight into what’s actually working across campuses
