In this session you'll learn how mobile apps and gamification are changing the way professionals in higher education are engaging with students. John Kuefler will share his experience creating the Pitt State mobile app that engages the Pittsburgh State University community, and Scott Reinke will share his experience creating Ball State Achievements, a mobile app that gamifies at-risk students' first year in college. Participants will have the opportunity to brainstorm the possibilities of mobile apps and gamification at their institutions.


OUTCOMES: Determine where to start with student-facing mobile apps * Identify how to leverage qualitative and quantitative data captured through mobile apps * Explore core principles of gamification
