Monday, March 13, 2017 | 10:00AM–11:00AM | Oregon Ballroom GH, Ballroom Level
Session Type: Breakout Session
Competency-based education is an innovative instructional approach that provides each student with a personalized learning path that recognizes their preexisting skills and allows them to move at their own pace. For example, a student may have industry certifications and job experience that allows them to quickly complete a bachelor’s degree in IT. In this session, the IT and systems issues that an institution needs to address to be successful in CBE programming will be explored using Western Governors University as an example.

OUTCOMES: Identify IT-related issues that CBE programs need to address to be successful * Articulate viable solutions for CBE IT issues * Speak knowledgeably to the leadership at your institution about CBE issues
