Improving IT Management of Research Administration through Partnership

Supporting the research mission is critical to the success of R1 institutions. At Indiana University, the CIO and the vice president of research have formed a unique partnership that ensures that technical alignment occurs when provisioning technology within the research community. This allows the institution to derive the most benefit from its IT investments. This presentation will describe the process of building a partnership between the IT organization and the Vice President for Research Office, culminating in the IT organization overseeing the IT management on behalf of the VPR with a joint reporting line.
