Effective leaders understand various leadership styles as well as the context in which decisions are made. In this session, we will review selected leadership theories and consider institutional roles and structures and their interplay with decision making. Activities will focus on understanding the process of decision making and developing a framework for using leadership more effectively.


OBJECTIVES: Identify theories of leadership and discuss how "leaderful" practice affects decision making processes * Discuss how you do/can take a leadership role regardless of position * Identify methods for enhancing your leaderful practice and supporting that practice in others * Increase your awareness of how leaders change the way they obtain information and create options as they take on more responsibilities * Reflect on how you see yourself growing in the implementation of leaderful behaviors
