Present!

Tuesday, June 28, 2016 | 2:15PM–3:00PM | Conference Room 301
Session Type: Professional Development
Giving a presentation is particularly challenging in leadership contexts when time is often very limited and the specter of digital distraction is pervasive. We need to design these kinds of presentations with care. The aim of this session is to provide an opportunity to reflect on best practices in presentation design, bringing into relief the important decisions we must make. While particular emphasis will be given to slide design, we will also address other dimensions of effective presentation strategies.

OBJECTIVES: Gain a better understanding of the complementary relationship of slides and speech * Understand the importance of visual elements in slide design * Be able to plan a presentation for human attention patterns * Understand the expert/novice distinction in presentation planning * Experiment with more creative slide designs
