Spotlight on Mobile Computing | Evaluating a Campus-Wide Mobile Learning Initiative: Lessons Learned from ACU's First Three Years

Abilene Christian University continues to explore innovative uses of mobile technologies in higher education. Deploying devices to all underclassmen has created unique opportunities to assess the impact of academic and social usage of hand-held devices among the university community. An overview of findings from research targeting faculty perspectives, classroom application evaluations, and student engagement will be presented and current challenges and interesting questions articulated. Additionally, initial findings from pilot projects investigating digital texts and iPad platforms will be summarized.
