Session Type: Professional Development

New technologies and new cloud infrastructures are changing the landscape of research for all researchers, not just those working in computer science and informatics. Fundamental changes in scale, or quantitative change, are leading to qualitative changes in research strategies. This talk will address how research institutions can better prepare faculty and students for the types of collaboration made possible by the evolving world of cloud storage and big data. Real-life examples from different fields will be discussed, as well as emerging models for campus investments in community clouds and vendor-based services.
