Developing Faculty Technology Skills...What Works?

Monday, February 13 | 3:45PM–6:00PM | Grand Ballroom Foyer
Session Type: ELI
How can we reach faculty to help them develop technology skills? At Dickinson College we have tried many approaches to faculty technology training, with varying success. In Spring 2011 we paused our teaching with technology programs and instead visited several academic departments to discuss their training requirements. For Fall 2011, we experimented with a menu of training options that can be delivered in as little as 10 minutes and an online training catalog for classroom trainings with descriptions and examples of faculty and student work. The session will present our "New Media a La Carte menu" and our training catalog.

Learning Objectives:
*Learn about the modes of technology training that have been offered at Dickinson College
*Learn about the results of meetings with faculty chairpersons and department staff where preferences for training for training were discussed
